Rich joined the National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC) as the National Instructor in July, 2004. Mr. Cregar teaches courses at nationwide conferences, seminars, and training events, such as the SAE Hybrid Technology Symposium. He has presented papers at the 2006 SAE World Congress and the 2007 North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) convention in Long Beach, CA. He has also served as co-chair of the Committee on Hydrogen Vehicle Safety of SAE. Rich attended Culver Academies (Culver, Indiana), Cornell College (Mt. Vernon, Iowa), and the University of Iowa (Iowa City ). Rich holds the following certifications from the Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE): Master Automotive Technician, Advanced Level Specialist in Automobile Advanced Engine Performance, and Alternative Fuels Technician.


Cal directs the ATTE Center and its related Grants. He also teaches the Smog Check program, the Alternative Fuels, and the Electric Vehicle programs. He worked at the corporate level of Jeep/Chrysler for over 12 years as a Technical Rep and Instructor. He has a B.S. degree in Industrial Education and is an ASE Certified Master Technician for over 20 years, CSA Certified CNG cylinder instructor, Smog Check Technician/ Instructor. He is a founding Member of the Board of the SCRTTC, a training consortium of transit agencies and colleges in Southern California. Cal wrote the CNG Cylinder Inspection Training Manual and is nationally recognized as an expert in this field.


Pete is an Accredited Fluid Power Instructor, Certified Fluid Power Specialist, and Certified Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic. He developed and taught courses for fluid power users, distributors, and machine manufacturers. He organized and executed fluid power training courses for such organizations as General Motors, Ford Motor, Visteon, Pabco Fluid Power, Devine Hydraulics (CT), HP Pelzer/Port Huron, Oakland Community College, Henry Ford Community College, and Macomb Community College. Pete also worked for Vickers in various capacities for over 12 years.


Bob Vannix brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and talent to his work spanning more than 30 years. His experience includes; a professor of automotive technology at leading U.S. Community Colleges, and technical writing for major automotive manufacturers. As an instructor, he is also adept in developing course curriculum packages. Bob presently teaches courses in Alternate Fuel, Electronics and Electric/Hybrid vehicles.


Rick was a training instructor and Senior R&D Technician for Vickers Inc. for 13 years. He taught hydraulics at HFCC community college. Rick is a Ford Motor Company Pipe fitter and training instructor. Rick has been in the hydraulics industry for 30 years. His enthusiastic and energetic presentation style ensures a quality experience for all.


Doc is truly a “been there done that” automotive instructor. As a technician, shop owner, manufacture engineer, and trainer. He has been a leader in diagnostic procedure development and training classes for over four decades. He has authored hundreds of training classes, manuals, and videos for OE manufactures, colleges, independent training and equipment companies. His high energy delivery makes your learning experience enjoyable. His simple description of highly complex subjects allows technicians to quickly and accurately understand even the most difficult information. His classes are set apart from the industry by being able to take information and fix cars immediately.


Bill is President of MPC Publishing. Bill was the Director of Product Management at OTC in the 1980s and was responsible for products like the OTC Monitor 2000 in 1985 that introduced the first cartridge based update for Scan Tools. Bill then went on to found Target Training Systems, the first national training company to introduce diagnostics that didn’t rely on manufacturer’s service manuals. Many technicians credit Bill’s “Ford EEC IV Diagnostic Manual” with helping them become the best of the best Ford technicians. Bill currently develops interactive DVDs that guide technicians through the complexity of diagnosing system like Vehicle Communications and Mode 6 Diagnostics. Bill Peek and Dr. Norman Nall work together on these high tech DVDs.
